The only time I would work with another roofer in your area is if the targeting is different, for example if your business only focuses of roof repairs annd roof leaks, but another business focuses on roof restoration. Working with both businesses can actually be beneficial as it can leads to strategic partnerships.
Although I have achieved number 1 ranks, in some very competitive niches, and although it likely will be possible I can never garuantee rankings. This is due to Googles everychanging algorithms, your competiton and also the ridiculous budget most businesses would need to achieve this positon.
